Northern Region
Jack Robinson aged eleven lead the way at the Buckley AA coaching session held on the Trap Pool on Saturday. Despite catching perch and roach, Jack connected with the 2lb crucian hybrid, as pictured. Needless to say all of the juniors in attendance enjoyed the session and caught fish. Buckley Juniors wishing to enrol onto the coaching must do so by signing up in Lionel’s, however, limited places are available. Staying with Buckley the Wednesday match was won by Darren Coppack who took two carp, bream and skimmers to take the coin off peg 41 with a margin caught return of 23lb 10oz. Ian Hughes was second placed off the sand bank with roach and skimmers to return 16lb 4oz. Steve Norman took the coin for third with skimmers and roach to bring 11lb 12oz to the net.

The Thursday Juniors was won by Alan Hughes who took roach to win the day with 2lb 8oz. Paul Roberts netted 2lb 3oz, for second, with Gerraint Harris taking the third place with 2lb 2oz.
The Wednesday open at Tarvin Sands was fished on Nemo’s where Chris Diamond won the match with a level 60lb of carp. Geoff Dentith was second with 26lb 8oz, with Julian Tatton in third place with 21lb 12oz.

Sunday and a switch to Todd’s saw John Woodrow win the match with corn and meat to return 50lb 4oz. Julian Tatton was second placed with 42lb 8oz, with Richie Birkett in third place with 39lb 8oz.

Andy Amos won the Tuesday Open on the lake of Tranquillity with a shallow caught 41lb 2oz. Lionel Evison took second place with 34lb 12oz, with Mo Openshaw taking the coin for third with 17lb 7oz.

Wednesday and Stephen Tapp took the coin with carp for 49lb 4oz. Martin Wedley was second placed with 46lb, with Kev Williams in third place with 28lb 8oz.
Thursday’s action saw Andy Amos in the winning seat with a carp return for 59lb 14oz. Matthew Powell was second placed with 46lb, with Richie O’Connor in third pace with 37lb 12oz.

Sundays open saw Matthew Powell win the day off the new pool with 23lb 10oz of carp and skimmers. Reg Gilbert took the coin for second with 17lb 10oz, with Terry Windsor in third place with a level 16lb.

The Sunday match on Hampton Springs was fished out on Rock, Meadow and long Island where Chris Diamond took the win with carp to 8lb, to return 64lb 4oz. John Cheetham was second placed with 54ln 4oz.Lionel Evison took his second frame of the week, returned third with 52lb 6oz.

Flint AC fished on the Trap on Sunday where Kev Carr led the way with skimmers and roach to return 9lb 13oz. Mike Ellis netted his way to second place with 9lb 11oz of the same. Third place was paid out to Matt Carroll who took 8lb 12oz, again all skimmers and roach.

Prysmian cables fished their latest match n the factory pool where Alan Jones won the match with two carp to return 16lb 4oz. Eric Humphreys was second placed with a bits bag for 5lb 8oz, with Mike Stein closing the frame, in third, with a level 5lb.

Ross Collinson notched up his 5th win in the Friday league at Holywell, fishing on Tre-Mostyn, taking the league trophy, however, Ross had to share first place with Neil Luke, as both brought 5lb 4oz of silvers to the net. Daz Harris was third placed with 4lb 4oz.

Ray Haynes won the Offa’s Dyke match with roach and crucians to return 8lb 3oz. Dave Roberts as second with a similar net for 6lb 2oz, with Ray Williams in third place with 4lb 3oz.

The Connah’s Quay Thursday Open was won by Steve Boyd who netted skimmers and roach to win t day with 14lb 2oz. ob Griffiths connected with 9lb 10oz of the same, for second, with Steve Norman in third place with 9lb 2oz.
Sunday saw the quay in action on the Lake of Tranquillity where Jimmy Price won the match with 29lb 2oz of carp off peg 35. Kev Picken fished his way to second, returning 18lb 2oz. third was paid out to Bob Griffiths who connected with 16lb 6oz.

Greyhound Wrexham were in action on the Horseshoe at Spring Lea where Dave Evans took the coin with a mixed bag for 46lb 12oz. Neil Jones was second placed on the day with 40lb 12oz, with Peter Reid in third place with 24lb 10oz.

Rake and Pikel opted to fish on the canal at Border Fishery where Paul Edwards won the day with carp to the pole to return 31lb. Brian Crawford was second placed with 29lb, with Jimmy Page in third place with 23lb.
